UNITE join UNISON :)

It is good to see the UNITE joining UNISON in deciding to call for strike action by local government workers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland on 16 and 17 July. Although not present in numbers in all authorities, UNITE does organise some key groups of local government workers.

This is a positive step in increasing the impact of our forthcoming action. Tomorrow’s meeting of UNISON’s Industrial Action Committee needs to support the national negotiators and endorse the call for strike action.

I am sure they will.

All this unity should catch on – as has been suggested elsewhere!

Indeed it weill make a real differnece in some Council's as of course traditionally they organise manual workers such as refuse and we all know what gets the public noticing our strikes! Wonderign if they managed ot ballot the private companies and hoping they did
