UNISON has sought - and received - assurances that there will be no attempt by the Government to reopen the NHS pay deal to impose a pay freeze.
Good.
However, what is clear is that yesterday's budget plans threaten public spending across the board - and therefore threaten the jobs and pay of all public service workers.
We need a fighting union to defend our members in the face of the attacks to which this will lead.
I'll leave regular readers (Sid and Doris Blogger) to guess what I think that means about how you should cast your vote in the UNISON NEC elections...
