UNISON's Doncaster Branch Secretary, Jim Board, has been suspended by the Mayor of Doncaster in what looks a lot like an attack on our Union.
In addition to welcome support for Jim from within the labour movement, UNISON are fully behind our Doncaster Branch Secretary and I will blog further as I hear more.
Doncaster Mayor Peter Davies (an "English Democrat") has been promoting a new non-TUC union set up by his own little political party.
He may be missing the point.
I'm English.
I'm a democrat.
I am proud to stand in the tradition of Wat Tyler and Tom Paine and I'm pretty sure that they would be with Jim Board and not Peter Davies.
