Health and Safety debate at the TUC

Congress has just agreed a worthy composite on workplace bullying and is now debating a call for a national occupational health scheme for the construction industry. Away from the media circus which surrounded the visit of the Prime Minister on Tuesday the trade union movement is concentrating upon the issues which matter to our members.

The Health and Safety Executive is facing cutbacks as part of Gordon Brown’s continuing attack upon civil service jobs. These cuts really are a matter of life and death for working people.
