The incredible importance of 0.3%...?

I am just preparing for today’s National Executive Council and am struck by the importance of that extra 0.3%.

Because 2.45% is bad.

Yet, we are told, 2.75% is good.

I can’t help noticing that one opinion is expressed by an elected body of lay representatives and the other isn’t.

Guess which is which…

In answer to your question, Andrew, the headline figures are indeed 2.75%, 2.4% and 2.25% but for some groups of staff there are extra pay improvements in the 2nd and 3rd years that bring the overall value of the package to the figures detailed on the UNISON website.

Of course, to get the benefit of the extra bits, you have to be in the relevant group....
