Men fight and lose the battle, and the thing that they fought for comes about in spite of their defeat, and when it comes turns out not to be what they meant, and other men have to fight for what they meant under another name. (William Morris - A Dream of John Ball)

Justice for Jean Charles de Menezes

The local UNISON branch of which I am a member, in Lambeth, South London, was one of many local community organisations appalled at the killing of Jean Charles de Menezes on 22 July last year. The news that no one will face prosecution over this killing has been very badly received in our local union office – and will be badly received by our members locally.

Anyone who can’t get or isn’t going to the Labour Representation Committee meeting on Saturday (see
